Frenchville Sports Club, a cornerstone of the local community, is delighted to announce the remarkable success of its "Helping Hand for Hospice" and "Hotdog for Hospice" initiatives.
Throughout the month of September, the club dedicated 1% of all food and beverage sales to the Fitzroy Community Hospice, along with 100% of profits from hotdogs sold over the footy finals weekend.
Following a resounding success, these initiatives achieved an outstanding milestone by raising a total of $6,285.13. This is in addition to the $50,000 donation the club has made to the Hospice. These substantial contributions will significantly bolster the Hospice's mission, ensuring the provision of crucial palliative care and support services for Central Queenslanders confronting incurable illnesses.
Graeme Brady OAM, Chairman of the Frenchville Sports Club, said he was thankful and excited about the impressive funds raised.
"We are immensely proud of the support shown by our members, guests, and the community at large. This achievement reflects the generosity and compassion that defines our club. Together, we have made a real difference in the lives of those facing life-limiting illnesses."
The Frenchville Sports Club extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of these initiatives, whether through patronage, donations at Point of Sale (POS) terminals, or by purchasing a hotdog. The collective effort of the community has directly impacted the Fitzroy Community Hospice, helping them continue their essential work.
Vicki Richmond, Director of the Fitzroy Community Hospice, expressed her appreciation, saying, "This gift exemplifies the ongoing commitment of Frenchville Sports Club to our local community and specifically to the Fitzroy Community Hospice project – thank you. The Hospice build is nearing completion, and the coming months will be jam-packed with finishing, commissioning, and recruitment. These funds are greatly valued and will directly assist with the provision of palliative care and support for local community members into 2024."
The Frenchville Sports Club, as Founding Partners of the Fitzroy Community Hospice, takes great pride in contributing to this vital cause. The success of these initiatives underscores the club's unwavering commitment to giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
