Frenchville Roos Return the Wesley Hall Home - 2019

In an entertaining and edge of your seat Grand Final held at Ryan Park the Frenchville Roos returned the Wesley Hall Cup home with a thrilling 3-2 win in extra time against Cap Coast in front of a 800 plus strong crowd.

After a goalless first half Cap Coast struck early in the second half and then defended valiantly until the final minute of injury time, where Harry Dean stepped up for a free kick to curl one around the wall and into the top corner of the net to send the Frenchville faithful into raptures and the game into extra time.

Frenchville continued to dominate the first half of extra time with Sam Reynolds earning a penalty, which Harry Dean stepped up and slotted home with confidence and then a further dagger to the Cap Coasts hearts was to follow just minutes later when a perfectly crossed ball saw Shane Lubbe clinically header the ball into the back of the net to take the score to 3-1.

Cap Coast pressed in the second half of extra time and despite a late goal and some nervous couple of minutes the final whistle seen wild celebrations erupt from the Frenchvillians.

Harry Dean was awarded player of the match and the win gave Matthew Wust his first win as coach in just his second year at the helm
