Fishing Club

The Club was formed after a meeting at the Post Office Hotel. First formal meeting was held on 18th June 1969 at the Post Office Hotel where they elected the office bearer with Peter Eastwood as president.
A limit of 40 members in the club at onetime hence there was a waiting list to join some waiting almost 2 years to get in.
The Club moved to the Frenchville Sports Club and held first meeting their mid-June 1996 we ran raffles on Sundays to help fund our trips we also do Mother’s Day and Father’s Day raffles when arrogate. This year we are trying to do sausage sizzles at Bunnings (other venues have been discussed).
You must be a member of Frenchville Sports Club reception will take your name and pass it on to our secretary or phone one of the executives or to come in on Sunday and see club member on raffle day and get application form witch need to be filled in and goes to the next meeting . Members must be over 18 years or a junior 13 years must have a guardian accompanying them.
Fishing trips are dependent on weather conditions. Most are weekend trips from Friday pm to Sunday pm depending on the tides . Fishing trips are usually 10 members on the boat.

For trips you supply your own fishing gear rods reels drinks tents etc the club the club usually caters food.
